Success Story | Meath Energy-from-Waste (EFW) Project

MWH Global, Inc.

Duleek, Ireland

The $150 million Meath EFW project is an energy-from-waste-facility in Duleek, Ireland. MWH’s project goal was to provide detailed design of the steam condensate cycle for the plant. In addition, MWH acted as overall coordinators for the 3D CAD design of the project, which involved the collation of all third party models and full clash detection in a 3D design environment.

By using MicroStation and Bentley Navigator, MWH created a virtual 3D environment to present the design so that the client could explore the design remotely. The ability to store files in one central, universally accessible data store using ProjectWise proved invaluable and saved a large amount of time that would normally have been spent transferring data and coordinating access.

This project was a nominee in the Power Generation category of the 2010 Year in Infrastructure Awards, now known as the Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure.
